Scared you might not do yourself justice on your degree? Universities often teach in unfamiliar ways and the right ‘fit’ for the support you need might not be available in-house or when transferred to external agencies, as many universities do. Similarly, you may seek out a private tutor and find that their methods don’t align with your learning style.
I can help. I’m Maxine, a specialist study skills tutor. I set up Meelia Inspiration Study Skills to give people like you proven, actionable objectives that help you ace every challenge.
Maybe you’ve signed up for an allied-health degree such as podiatry or physiotherapy. Perhaps you’re studying for a social work, psychology, psychotherapy, criminology, nursing studies or architecture degree. Or maybe you’re transitioning from A-levels or a BTEC National Diploma.
If so, it’ll pay you to learn effective study skills first.

How can I help you?
Sessions are on online platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. We’ll work out the best fit for you after an initial meeting. That could be small groups and/or one-to-ones.
You also have the option of real-life group meetings every three to four months to help build a supportive ‘community learners’ network.
Study skills for neurodivergent students
If you are diagnosed with a neurodivergent condition and in receipt of DSA2, some higher education establishments might not cater for you as well as you’d like. Maybe you suspect you have DCD (formally dyspraxia), dyslexia, and/or ADHD. Perhaps you live with a mental-health condition.
Meeting deadlines can be stressful, with some students saying university study skills provision for the neurodivergent is hit and miss. So let’s find out where you’re at and give you a tailored roadmap to help you understand those vital academic processes, plan your workload effectively, and take your anxiety away.
